Geneva Lake's west-shore enforcement profile differs from the east-shore
Geneva Lake stretches roughly 7.5 miles east-to-west across Walworth County. The east shore (Lake Geneva city) and the west shore (Fontana) operate under different enforcement profiles. Fontana's stretch is generally less densely-populated, more residential than commercial, with fewer beachfront public-access points than Lake Geneva. The marine patrol density per shoreline mile is comparable, but the case mix differs.
Fontana's BOAT-OWI cases tend to involve smaller-craft operators (sailboats, runabouts, paddle craft with motors) more than the large powerboats that dominate Lake Geneva charging. Disorderly-conduct charges in Fontana concentrate at the beach and the resort areas; trespass charges on private frontage are more common here than on the east shore because more of Fontana's lakefront is privately held. Underage possession of alcohol under § 125.07 is a steady summer charge from beach enforcement.
