Effective May 4, 2026.
These Terms of Service govern your use of the websites operated by Cafferty, Scheidegger and Johnson S.C. (the “Firm,” “we,” “us”):
These terms apply uniformly across all three (collectively, the “Sites”). By using any of the Sites you agree to these terms.
Informational only - not legal advice
Content on the Sites is provided for general informational purposes about Wisconsin criminal, OWI/DUI, and traffic law. It is not legal advice, is not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney, and may not reflect the most current statute, case law, or court rule. Do not act or refrain from acting based on anything you read on the Sites without first consulting a qualified Wisconsin attorney.
No attorney-client relationship
Viewing the Sites, contacting us through a form, or sending us an email does not create an attorney-client relationship. A relationship is formed only when the Firm and the client sign a written engagement agreement. Until that point, communications are not protected by attorney-client privilege; please do not include sensitive case details in unsolicited messages.
Past results
References to prior outcomes, verdicts, settlements, awards, or recognitions are factually accurate as of the date posted but do not guarantee or predict similar results in any future matter. Every case is decided on its own facts and law.
Wisconsin advertising compliance
The Sites constitute attorney advertising under the Wisconsin Supreme Court Rules of Professional Conduct (SCR 20:7.1, 20:7.2). The Firm is licensed to practice in Wisconsin; admission in other jurisdictions is noted on individual attorney pages where applicable.
Acceptable use
You agree not to (a) scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract the Sites for commercial use without our written permission, (b) attempt to access non-public areas, (c) interfere with the Sites’ security or availability, or (d) use the Sites to violate any law.
Intellectual property
All content on the Sites (text, images, logos, page layouts, code) is owned by Cafferty, Scheidegger and Johnson S.C. or used under license, and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may print or save reasonable excerpts for personal, non-commercial reference. All other use requires written permission.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Sites are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Wisconsin law, the Firm and its attorneys, employees, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Sites.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising under or relating to the Sites shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Racine County, Wisconsin.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The “Effective” date above reflects the most recent version. Continued use of any of the Sites after a change constitutes acceptance.
